Set this 6-inch spring-load rubber rigid on a fixed corner of a ground-support cart carrying delicate loads that need the softest possible ride.

This one cushions twice: the spring suspension built into the caster absorbs the shock of rough ground, and the grey rubber tread adds its own cushioning on top, giving the gentlest ride in the 141 line for fragile aviation or automotive cargo. The rubber is non-marking and runs quietly, the kingpinless frame has no kingpin to loosen, and the yellow dichromate finish resists corrosion. It carries less than the polyurethane-on-aluminum version but rides softer. As a rigid caster it tracks straight on the fixed corners. It runs on a precision ball bearing, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at an 8-inch mount height, and holds from -45 to 180°F.
