Set this 8-inch Empire 170 soft-tread swivel with a swivel lock on the heaviest economical tow-line that needs a cushioned ride and the option to track straight.

A swivel lock holds the swivel from rotating so the caster tracks dead straight when engaged, then releases to swivel again. It stops the swivel from turning, not the wheel from rolling, which keeps the heaviest towed cart from wandering down a line. The 80A tread is a softer 80 Shore A polyurethane that absorbs shock and runs quieter than the firm green PM, gentler on delicate loads, while carrying up to 1,500 pounds at this size. At 8 inches the large wheel clears the biggest obstacles, the butterscotch round polyurethane is non-marking, and the PM build is kingpinless with no central kingpin to loosen. It runs on a precision ball bearing, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 9-1/2-inch mount height, and holds from -40 to 180°F.
