About This Caster - 170RT05201SFBC

Reach for this 5-inch Empire 170 swivel with an FBC face brake when a mid-weight wet-area cart maneuvers in tight space, then parks and holds.

The FBC brake is the close-radius face-brake style, sized to stop the wheel where aisles are short and the cart turns in close quarters. The wheel is glass-filled polypropylene, a stiff reinforced plastic rated -20 to 250°F that resists washdown chemicals and corrosion where steel rusts. It is hard with no cushioning, rolls cleanly on smooth floors, and can mark, and at 5 inches it carries up to 1,000 pounds on a roller bearing for manual pushing. The swivel turns on a kingpinless welded raceway with no central pin to loosen, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 6-1/2-inch mount height, and is zinc plated.
