About This Caster - 170SE04228R
Choose this 4-inch Empire 170 rigid with a precision ball bearing when a straight-line cart needs a cushioned wheel that starts and rolls with the least operator effort.
The wheel is solid elastomer, a tough rubber-like compound that absorbs shock and runs quietly without ever going flat, grey and non-marking on finished floors. The precision ball bearing rolls with a lighter touch than a roller bearing, so a loaded cart breaks away and moves with less push, easing repetitive trips. At 4 inches it carries up to 1,000 pounds, takes -40 to 230°F, and the rigid fork tracks straight only on a kingpinless welded raceway. It bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a low 5-5/8-inch mount height with a zinc-plated finish.
