Set this 4-inch Defender D4 rigid on the fixed corners of a wash-down or food-processing cart that has to track straight and shrug off corrosion.

The whole rig is stainless steel, so it stands up to daily wash-down, caustic cleaners, and the humidity of a food or pharma plant that would rust a zinc-plated caster. The wheel is Colson's Eagle polyurethane on a polyolefin core, the tougher of the two poly compounds offered here, bonded so the tread does not peel and built to carry a steady load on a 2-inch-wide face without marking the floor. Being rigid, it does not swivel: it holds the line behind the steering corners on a straight pull. The pedestal precision ball bearing keeps it rolling from -45 to 180°F.
