Cast climbers are the heavier-duty half of the stair-climber choice, and the set B&P codes E1C.
Casting puts material where the rails take the beating, at the curved noses that ride each stair edge, which is why cast sets outlast extruded ones on routes that run stairs all day. The kit ships as two climbers with the mounting hardware, and the 1/2 inch wear strips are thick, extra long, and reversible: flip them when one face wears and the set keeps going instead of going in the bin. Strips are stocked separately as a service part, so the climbers themselves become a long-life item rather than a consumable.
Bolted to a compatible frame, they turn a truck that bangs down every tread into one that glides the descent under control.
