About This Caster - 16CA04201SFBA
Specify this 4-inch 16 Series swivel for a cart that works near a furnace, oven, or forge, the cast iron caster whose wheel survives heat to 800°F where every elastomer and resin tread melts or chars.
Rubber gives by 180°F and phenolic chars past 250°F; the 16 Series cast iron wheel carries the highest load and rolls through radiant heat to 800°F, which a foundry, heat-treat, or oven-line cart needs, and the face brake clamps a shoe to the wheel to hold it at a station. The roller bearing carries the load at a walk, and the 4 by 4-1/2 top plate bolts to a flat deck. USA-made for fast shipping.

Skip the cast iron wheel if the floor is finished or noise matters; it marks the floor and runs loud, so a rubber 16XS04201SFBA face brake rolls quiet and non-marking and a phenolic 16TM06201SFBA takes oil and heat to 250°F.
