About This Caster - 170SE05201SFBBL

Step up to this 5-inch Empire 170 swivel with combined face brake and swivel lock and a roller bearing when a heavy cart has to steer, then park dead still.

This is the total-lock build: the face brake stops the wheel and the swivel lock holds the swivel, so a loaded cart cannot roll or rotate when set on a slope or loading point. The wheel is solid elastomer, a tough rubber-like compound that absorbs shock and runs quietly without going flat, grey and non-marking on finished floors. The roller bearing is built for heavier sustained pushing and shrugs off shock, and at 5 inches the caster carries up to 1,000 pounds and takes -40 to 230°F. The swivel turns on a kingpinless welded raceway with no central pin to loosen, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 6-1/2-inch mount height, and is zinc plated.
