About This Caster - 170SE08201S01FBB
Reach for this 8-inch Empire 170 swivel with an FBB face brake and roller bearing when the heaviest cart steers over rough floors and must stay put when parked.
The FBB brake is the wider-radius face-brake style, pressing a shoe against the wheel to hold the heaviest loaded cart on its spot. The wheel is solid elastomer, a tough rubber-like compound that absorbs shock and runs quietly without going flat, grey and non-marking on finished floors. The roller bearing is built for heavier sustained pushing and shrugs off shock, and at 8 inches the caster carries up to 1,200 pounds and takes -40 to 230°F. The swivel turns on a kingpinless welded raceway with no central pin to loosen, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 9-1/2-inch mount height, and is zinc plated.
