About This Caster - 170TM06201SFBC
Choose this 6-inch Empire 170 phenolic swivel with an FBC face brake when a heavier cart turns in tight space around oils or solvents and rolls over rough floors, then parks and holds.
The FBC brake is the close-radius face-brake style, sized to stop the wheel where aisles are short. The taller 6-inch wheel bridges seams while staying hard and low-friction. The wheel is phenolic, a hard resin-bonded composite that takes -65 to 250°F and resists oils, solvents, and water. It is hard with no cushioning, so it transmits shock, can mark, and is best on smooth hard surfaces. At 6 inches it carries up to 1,200 pounds on a roller bearing, turns on a kingpinless welded raceway with no central pin to loosen, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 7-1/2-inch mount height, and is zinc plated.
