The 5/8-11 thread is a bigger coarse stem than the half-inch, so it threads into a heavier-built boss with the one-and-three-quarter-inch length seated deep, the ball bearing carries the load and rolls it with less push than a Delrin bore, and the tall 5-inch Performa rubber tread cushions the load and clears the biggest thresholds.
