Specify this 6-inch glass-filled nylon wheel for a cart that gets loads dropped on it and rolls through chemicals, where a brittle wheel cracks on the first hard hit and a rubber tread swells or rots.
Colson's Maxim glass-filled nylon is an ultra-tough thermoplastic built to take drop shock and impact without chipping or splitting, which is what separates it from a hard wheel that shatters at the edge under a dropped die or a slammed pallet. It also shrugs off the solvents, oils, and wash chemicals that degrade rubber, and it stays light for its load class. The roller bearing carries the weight through slow, heavy moves. The trade is a hard ride with no cushioning.
Ideal applications
- Drop-zone cart that takes dies or castings landing on it, concrete
- Chemical or solvent area where rubber treads swell and rot
- Heavy parts cart needing impact resistance over cushioning
Skip glass-filled nylon if the cart needs a quiet, floor-protecting ride; a HI-TECH polyurethane or rubber wheel cushions where this hard tread does not.
