About This Caster - ES8X2PHNTBK
Set this 8-inch phenolic swivel on the steering corners of a heavy dock cart that crosses broken floor and then has to hold, where a roller bearing carries the load and the brake locks the wheel.
The wheel is hard resin-bonded phenolic from Pemco: it carries a heavy load on a small footprint, rolls with low resistance, and shrugs off oil, grease, and solvent from -45°F to 250°F. The roller bearing carries the weight under the swivel, the 8-inch wheel bridges dock plates and broken floor, and the tread-lock brake presses on the wheel to hold the cart still while the swivel still turns. The black phenolic wheel bolts on through a 4 by 4-1/2 inch top plate.

- Tall phenolic wheel braked while bridging broken floor
On a finished floor the hard phenolic marks; a poly-on-iron ES8X2MOP rolls non-marking instead.
