Build this 8-inch phenolic wheel into a heavy platform truck that has to both clear debris and carry a load wider than a 2-inch tread can spread.

It combines the two heavy-duty levers: an 8-inch diameter that rolls over chips and joints, and a 3-inch tread that puts a broad footprint under the load. The hard phenolic carries that weight through floor oils and to 180°F without the give of an elastomer, and the roller bearing matches the slow heavy travel. It is a tall, wide, hard wheel, so plan the rig and fork height around it.

Ideal applications

• Heavy platform trucks crossing debris with a wide load
• Loads too broad for a 2-inch tread but on an 8-inch deck
• Oil-exposed long hauls on a roller-bearing axle

When the deck can go taller for bigger gaps, the 10 x 3 roller phenolic 50CE103-03 rolls over more.
