Choose this 5-inch Shepherd Institutional top-plate swivel with a total lock brake for furniture or equipment that steers quietly over rough floors and then parks dead still.
The total lock brake stops the wheel and locks the swivel with one pedal so a parked unit holds its spot and will not creep or pivot. Until then the grey rubber wheel on a polyolefin core cushions bumps, runs quietly, and leaves no marks, while a precision ball bearing makes the swivel steer with little effort. The tall 5-inch diameter rolls over wider cracks and thresholds than the smaller sizes, on a 2-5/8-inch by 3-3/4-inch plate with a 4.375-inch radius. It carries less than a hard wheel, so it earns its place where a quiet ride leads. It serves from -40°F to 180°F.
