Choose this 3-inch Shepherd Omega hollow-kingpin swivel for a chair or stand that fastens with a bolt through the center rather than a friction-fit socket.
The difference from the grip-ring model is the mount: a hollow kingpin lets a bolt pass through the center to fasten the caster firmly to the base, which suits frames built for a bolt-through fitting instead of a press-in stem. The Omega series rides on heat-treated steel rigs with a chrome finish for visible bases, and the black rubber wheel on a polyolefin core cushions the ride and runs quietly on a precision ball bearing for an effortless roll, steering with a 2.875-inch radius. It serves from -40°F to 180°F.
