About This Caster Socket - RT620SQ
Use this socket to turn a slim 0.620-inch square tube leg into a tool-free mount for a grip-ring stem caster.
A caster socket is a sleeve that seats in the open end of a hollow tube leg and gives it a round bore sized to hold a caster stem, so a light cart, rack, or display fixture built from thin square tube can take a standard caster without welding a plate or tapping the tube. This one fits a 0.620-inch inside-diameter square tube, the slimmest leg in the range, and accepts a 7/16-inch grip-ring stem, the sprung-ring stem that pushes in and holds without a nut, so casters drop in and pull out by hand for service.
Ideal applications
- 0.620-inch ID square tube legs on light carts and fixtures
- Tool-free mount for a 7/16-inch grip-ring stem caster
- Slim tube frames that need a caster without welding a plate
For a larger square tube, the 0.902-inch RT902SQ and 1-1/2-inch RT1120SQ take the same 7/16 grip-ring stem.
Pairs with: four 7/16-inch grip-ring stem casters and a square-tube frame built to 0.620-inch ID.
Wrong fit? Running a bigger tube? See the 0.902-inch RT902SQ and the 1-1/2-inch RT1120SQ for other inside dimensions.
Also in this family: the grip-ring stem casters and sockets in the Shepherd collection.
