About This Caster Socket - RT902SQ
Use this socket to turn a 0.902-inch square tube leg into a tool-free mount for a grip-ring stem caster.
A caster socket is a sleeve that seats in the open end of a hollow tube leg and gives it a round bore sized to hold a caster stem, so a cart, rack, or display fixture built from light square tube can take a standard caster without welding a plate or tapping the tube. This one fits a 0.902-inch inside-diameter square tube, a smaller leg than the 1-1/2-inch sockets, and accepts a 7/16-inch grip-ring stem, the sprung-ring stem that pushes in and holds without a nut, so casters drop in and pull out by hand for service.
Ideal applications
- 0.902-inch ID square tube legs on light carts and fixtures
- Tool-free mount for a 7/16-inch grip-ring stem caster
- Light tube frames that need a caster without welding a plate
For a larger 1-1/2-inch ID square tube, the RT1120SQ takes the same 7/16 grip-ring stem in a bigger leg.
Pairs with: four 7/16-inch grip-ring stem casters and a square-tube frame built to 0.902-inch ID.
Wrong fit? Running a bigger tube? See the 1-1/2-inch RT1120SQ and the RT1150SQ for other inside dimensions.
Also in this family: the grip-ring stem casters and sockets in the Shepherd collection.
