Choose this 8-inch Empire 170 phenolic swivel when the heaviest cart needs to steer in extreme temperatures or chemical areas on a hard, low-friction wheel.

The 8-inch wheel clears the biggest obstacles while turning and handles up to 1,400 pounds under load. The wheel is phenolic, a hard resin-bonded composite that takes -65 to 250°F and resists oils, solvents, and water that break down softer treads, with low rolling resistance on smooth floors. It is hard with no cushioning, so it transmits shock, can mark, and is best off soft or littered surfaces. It runs on a roller bearing built for heavy pushing, and the swivel turns on a kingpinless welded raceway with no central pin to loosen, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 9-1/2-inch mount height, and is zinc plated.
