Bolt this 6-inch polyurethane rigid to the back two corners of a 2,000-pound transfer cart where the rear has to track dead straight while the front swivels do the steering. As a rigid it never turns, so the whole job is holding the load square and not splaying under a forklift bump.

That is where the Empire 370 leg construction earns its place. Albion welds the legs both inside and outside the bracket, so a side impact that would bend a single-weld rigid and throw the cart out of track gets carried by the welded box instead. The 2,000-pound green polyurethane wheel is bonded to a cast iron core, so it takes iron-grade load without the marking cast iron leaves on sealed concrete or vinyl.

• Powder-coat and paint-line transfer carts, 1,400-2,000 lb fixture, 8 hr/day on sealed concrete
• Press-shop die carts, rear corners, 1,800-2,000 lb, straight aisle runs

Skip the polyurethane 370PE if the floor runs past 180°F or carries hot chips and slag; cast iron holds its rating to far higher heat, so specify the 370CA06501R cast iron rigid for foundry and heat-treat duty instead.
