Specify this 6-inch polyurethane swivel with a face brake on a 2,000-pound cart that has to be rolled into position and then stay there, on a loading dock or any spot with a slight grade where a free-rolling rig will drift the moment the operator lets go.

The face brake is the difference. A pedal-cam presses a shoe straight onto the polyurethane tread and clamps the wheel against the floor, so a parked 2,000-pound load holds even on a ramp instead of creeping the way a friction side-lock allows. Underneath, the same kingpinless heat-treated raceway carries side load through every turn, and the wheel is green polyurethane on a cast iron core for the full 2,000-pound rating.

Ideal applications

• Dock-edge transfer carts parked on a grade, 1,500-2,000 lb, sealed concrete
• Assembly carts braked at each station, 1,200-1,800 lb fixture, 8 hr/day
• Maintenance rigs parked under load between jobs, 1,000-1,800 lb, finished floor

The face brake stops the wheel, not the swivel; if you also need to lock the cart from steering on a tow line, choose a total-lock variant rather than this face brake. For carts that only need occasional positioning, the plain 370PE06501S swivel costs less.
