Set this 5-inch 62 Series rigid under a wash-down cart that runs through caustic and hot rinse, the Maxim glass-filled nylon caster whose wheel shrugs off the chemicals that swell a rubber tread and the heat that softens a poly one.

Glass-filled nylon does not absorb water or the caustic and solvent that break down a rubber or poly tread, and it holds its shape through heat to 250°F where a polyurethane wheel goes soft. The hard tread rolls with low resistance on smooth sealed floor, the roller bearing carries the load at a walk, and the 6-1/4 by 4-1/2 top plate bolts to a flat deck. The trade is ride: the hard wheel transmits shock and runs loud, so it belongs on smooth floor, not delicate finish.
