About This Caster - D4.04108.839 RW SS WB29
Reach for this 4-inch Defender D4 rigid when a heat-service cart is loaded heavy and pushed slowly across the floor.
The roller bearing is the heavy-haul option here, carrying more weight than a ball or Delrin bearing as long as the cart moves at a deliberate pace, which suits a packed oven rack or retort trolley. It rides on Colson's blue hi-temp polypropylene retort wheel, a hard tread that comes through steam and high heat to 250°F and resists sterilization chemicals, on a stainless steel frame that stands up to the wet, corrosive bays this equipment lives in. The rigid mount holds a straight line at the rear of the cart. Because the wheel is hard plastic it gives no cushioning and can mark a soft finished floor, so weight and heat come first, not ride quality.
