About This Caster - D4.04108.831 RW SS
Choose this 4-inch Defender D4 rigid when a hot wash-down line needs a caster with nothing to grease or corrode.
It pairs a stainless steel frame with Colson's blue hi-temp polypropylene wheel, the same heat-and-chemical-tolerant tread that handles retort and sterilization cycles up to 250°F, and runs it on a Delrin plain bearing. That bearing is the maintenance-free choice: no grease to flush out in a wash-down, nothing to seize when sprayed, and quiet running at the lighter loads it is sized for. The rigid mount tracks in a straight line for the back of a cart. As a hard plastic wheel it gives no cushioning and can scuff a soft floor, so it suits heat, moisture, and chemicals rather than a smooth or quiet ride.
