About This Caster - D4.04109.835 RW SS
Put this 4-inch Defender D4 swivel on a sterilization or retort cart that has to steer through steam and high heat and roll smoothly at speed.
The swivel head guides the cart through tight processing spaces, with a 3.375-inch swivel radius to allow, and the blue hi-temp retort polypropylene wheel rides through autoclave and food-processing retort cycles where heat and steam would soften an elastomer, holding to 250°F and resisting sterile-processing chemicals. The pedestal precision ball bearing keeps both wheel and swivel turning smoothly on faster, frequent trips, on a stainless steel frame for wash-down service. The wheel is hard with no cushioning and can mark a soft floor. This is the steam-grade steering caster for faster sterile-processing routes. It serves from -45 to 250°F.
