Set this 5-inch Chrome Hospital caster on the rear of a hospital bed or long transport cart that drifts off line when pushed down a corridor.

The directional lock is not a brake: it snaps the swivel straight and holds it so the caster tracks a straight line while the wheel keeps rolling, which keeps a heavy bed from crabbing sideways down a long hallway. Flip it off and the caster swivels again for turning into a room. At 5 inches it clears the worst thresholds, and the soft rubber tread on a polyolefin core rolls quiet and cushions vibration, staying non-marking grey. The chrome finish wipes clean on a four-bolt top plate, holding from -30 to 180°F.
