About This Caster - ER4X2MOPTBK

Set this 4-inch braked rigid on the back corners of a low loaded cart that has to track straight and then hold in place, where the deck rides low and the wheel must not roll once it is set.

The wheel molds a polyurethane tread onto a cast iron core from Pemco: the iron carries the load without plastic-core flex, and the red poly tread rolls non-marking on a finished floor. The tread-lock brake presses on the wheel to hold the loaded cart still, the rigid fork keeps the cart tracking straight, and the roller bearing carries the weight. At 4 inches the deck stays low, the 4 by 4-1/2 inch top plate bolts to a flat deck, and the tread holds to 180°F.
