About This Caster - ES5X2CIRTBK
Set this 5-inch cast iron swivel on a high-heat cart corner that has to steer freely and stop on a grade.
The tread lock brake presses a pad onto the cast iron wheel to stop it rolling while the swivel keeps turning, enough to hold a parked cart on a slope. The cast iron wheel holds up from -40 to 600°F for an oven or foundry line where rubber or poly would soften, and at 5 inches it carries a high load and steers into a tight spot. The trade is a hard, noisy wheel that damages a soft floor, so it suits bare concrete. It runs on a roller bearing and bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate.

If the corner only needs to steer, the plain ES5X2CIR drops the brake.
