About This Caster - ES5X2PHNB
Choose this 5-inch phenolic swivel for a loaded shop cart that works an oily or warm floor below oven heat, the middle ground where polyurethane softens but you do not need a cast iron wheel.
The wheel is hard molded phenolic, rated to 250°F, so it carries a high load without deforming and shrugs off the oil and grease that swell elastomer treads. The precision ball bearing keeps it rolling smoothly under the load. It is the E-line caster for machine shops and assembly lines where the floor is dirty and warm but not oven-hot, and a hard tread is acceptable.
Ideal applications
- Loaded machine and assembly carts on oily shop floor, to 250°F
- Drum and parts carts near warm processes, hard concrete
- Heavy shop rigs where polyurethane softens but cast iron is overkill, multi-shift
Skip phenolic if the floor is finished or noise-sensitive; the hard tread marks and clatters, so a TUM polyurethane E-line wheel rolls cleaner and quieter on clean floors.
