About This Caster - D4.04108.555 SS
Put this 4-inch Defender D4 rigid on the back of a quiet, finished-floor cart that still has to live in a wash-down area.
The wheel is Colson Performa soft rubber on a polyolefin core, the institutional standard for hospitals, labs, and food service because it runs quietly, cushions the ride, and leaves no marks on a finished floor. Its round tread profile rolls with low resistance and is easy on the surface. The stainless steel frame adds corrosion resistance for wet, sprayed-down rooms, and the pedestal precision ball bearing keeps it rolling smoothly at speed and on tow lines. Soft rubber carries less than a poly wheel, so this is a quiet, floor-friendly caster rather than a heavy hauler. Rigid means it tracks in a straight line. It serves from -45 to 180°F.
