Pick this 5-inch Defender D4 rigid when a damp cart needs a low-cost, corrosion-proof caster and the load is modest.
The polyolefin wheel is an economical hard plastic that resists chemicals and moisture, will not absorb water or swell, and wipes clean for sanitary use. The Delrin plain bearing runs grease-free and corrosion-proof for sprayed-down rooms, and at 5 inches the wheel clears thresholds more easily than a smaller one. The stainless steel frame handles wet, chemical bays. Polyolefin is a value tread that carries less than a poly-on-core wheel and, being hard, gives no cushioning and can scuff a soft floor. Rigid means it tracks straight at the rear. It serves from -45 to 180°F, the budget-minded, low-upkeep choice for clean, lighter-duty carts.
