About This Caster - AS40P1POD
Set this 4-inch A-line swivel under a flat-framed cart that bolts down through a top plate rather than a leg stem or a bolt hole.
It mounts through a 2-5/8 by 3-3/4 inch top plate, the standard small flat-frame fitting, so it suits a welded or fabricated deck. The wheel is a hard polyolefin on a polypropylene core, a black tread that rolls easy and resists moisture from -45 to 180°F, and the Delrin plain bearing runs maintenance-free. It is the economical top-plate rolling corner of the A-line.
Ideal applications
- Flat-framed carts bolting to a 2-5/8 by 3-3/4 inch plate
- Economical light-to-medium decks on smooth floors
- Top-plate decks running with no axle to grease or service
The hard polyolefin tread will not flat-spot under a parked load and shrugs off the moisture and cleaning chemicals that swell softer wheels, so it stays round and serviceable on a cart that sits between shifts. For a corner that must hold the cart still, the side-brake AS40P1PODSB locks the wheel.
