About This Caster - ER8X2TPDBTBK
Set this 8-inch rigid on the back corners of a heavy hand-pushed quiet-area cart that crosses thresholds and then has to hold, where a ball bearing keeps the push light and the brake locks the corner.
The wheel is Pemco's Thermo-Rubber donut tread on a polypropylene core: a soft grey thermoplastic rubber that rolls quiet, leaves no marks, and cushions thresholds and floor seams. The precision ball bearing cuts the push effort so a tall loaded cart moves by hand, the 8-inch wheel bridges thresholds and elevator gaps, and the tread-lock brake presses on the wheel to hold the cart still. The rigid fork holds the line on a 4 by 4-1/2 inch top plate.
Ideal applications
- Back corners of heavy hand-pushed quiet-area carts at 8 inches, braked
- Ball bearing for a light push on a tall 8-inch tread
- Tread lock holding a wheel that bridges thresholds
Skip the brake if the corner only rolls; the plain ER8X2TPDB is the no-brake version.
Pairs with: plain ER8X2TPDB rigids on the corners that only roll.
Wrong fit? No brake needed or a roller bearing? See the plain ER8X2TPDB and the roller tread-lock ER8X2TPDTBK.
Also in this family: the 6-inch ball tread-lock ER6X2TPDBTBK, or the full Pemco collection.

What our customers say
Excellent service! Outstanding quality castors.
Great customer service and casters!
Great service, friendly staff and quality product.
Excellent all inclusive selection. Was able to use their product search to easily and accurately purchase two pieces of Seperate but related pieces of hardware. Product shipped and tracked per UPS and arrived in a timely manner while packaged and in good condition. Product quality is excellent especially given price was a very reasonable.
Purchased Blickle casters from W.T. Hight Company. Rated 5/5.
Long story short, we purchased an under-counter freezer that was too tall and needed the casters taken off. However, I had no idea how to do that so a quick Google led me to W.T. Hight and the customer representative, Lemuga, was super patient and walked me through the process! Although we didn't purchase anything this time, their customer service was wonderful and we will be keeping this company on our radar for all things casters!
I had an amazing experience with W.T. Hight Company! I purchased casters for my equipment, and the quality was outstanding — sturdy, reliable, and exactly what I needed. The customer service was top-notch; they were incredibly patient and walked me through the entire process to ensure I got the right fit. Highly recommended.
