Set this 8-inch rigid on the back corners of a quiet-area cart that crosses thresholds and then has to hold, where the tall soft wheel bridges the bumps silent and the brake locks the corner.

The wheel is Pemco's Thermo-Rubber donut tread on a polypropylene core: a soft grey thermoplastic rubber that rolls quiet, leaves no marks, and cushions thresholds and floor seams. The tread-lock brake presses on the wheel to hold the cart still, the roller bearing carries the weight, and the 8-inch wheel bridges thresholds and elevator gaps. The rigid fork keeps it tracking straight on a 4 by 4-1/2 inch top plate.
